EditSynopsisFive centuries ago the Tower was built by Tahem Nadakur, a Khemi wizard. Using dark magics powered by the life force of slaves, he pulled the bones of innumerable creatures from the very ground and built this ghastly osseous Tower as his home.
Today, nothing lives within ten miles of the Tower. It stands alone in the sea of grass, a two-hundred foot tall spire of yellowed bone visible from miles around, in the middle of a perfect circle of dead grey soil. Animals avoid the area, perhaps sensing that death awaits.
The people of the plains have many stories about the Tower, and claim that it is still inhabited by dark and dangerous things, and that it is unsafe to camp within sight of it on nights when the moon is high and clear. They say that on such nights bone-chilling howls and moans can be heard upon unseasonably cold winds, and that the Tower itself glows a sickly green.
EditMagicTahem Nadakur was a very powerful Necromantist and Thanomancer. He was universally feared in his day, for his might seemed unconquerable.
EditDetailsIt is unclear if Tahem still lives, in his tower or elsewhere. No one has ever entered the tower and returned alive. Living creatures that venture within a hundred feet of the tower start to feel lethargic and if they stay for long, old wounds will start to open and bleed again.
EditAdventure Seeds Scepter of Tahem: Tahem was reputed to be in possession of a powerful Atladian artifact, a golden scepter that reportedly had power over the minds of others. Even if the device had no powers, it was described as being made of silver, gold, and gems as big as a shot stone and would be worth a massive fortune. Might it be found in the Tower, waiting for a bold hand to pluck it?
